By now, you would have gathered we like to inform you of the more natural, chemical free ways of cleaning your kitchen appliances - by making a bicarbonate of soda and vinegar mixture, you can get fantastic results and make your oven glass look as good as new.
"But what products do I need to clean my oven door?" I hear you ask. Well, before you begin cleaning, make sure you have the following to hand:
- Bicarbonate of soda (or baking powder)
- White vinegar
- Rubber gloves
- Non-scratch sponges
- A clean microfiber cloth
- Warm, soapy water
Step-By-Step Guide to Cleaning Your Oven Door Naturally
First, mix bicarbonate of soda (or baking soda) and water together to create a little paste. Once you have made your mixture, you’ll need to:
- Take out the glass panel at the front of your oven and put it into the sink
- Cover the glass in the cleaning mixture you've just made
- Leave for around 30 minutes, or overnight if the grease and stains are particularly bad
- Do the same for the glass on the oven (being careful to avoid any heating elements)
- Spray the areas with your cleaning solution with some white vinegar
- Ensure the cleaning paste has become foamy
- Use a scratch-free sponge to wipe away any excess grease (pay attention to any stuck-on food)
- Repeat this process a couple of times (if grease and stains are stubborn)
- Rinse the glass with warm soapy water
- Then rinse with clean, cool water
- And finally buff with a clean microfiber cloth to bring the sparkle back
