Crystal Oven Cleaning
When you walk into your kitchen, can you see the food splatters and dust particles on your tiles? With the kitchen being one of the most popular rooms in a house comes a lot of spillages and dirt, especially on wall and floor tiles.
Of course we think the kitchen is the best place to start your spring cleaning, but it can often be an overwhelming task. And often or not, it's because of the most off-putting chore in that room... cleaning the oven.
But fear not... we’re here to make it easier than ever to tidy and organise your kitchen this Spring. Our first tip is to break your cleaning up into bite-sized chunks so you don’t take on more than you can clean in one go! The key is to not over do it and overwhelm yourself.
Now without further ado, let's take a look at the following Spring cleaning tips to help clean your kitchen and get it looking tip-top again!
Our top tips when it comes to cleaning kitchen tiles is to start from the top (walls) to the bottom (floor). This is because some dirt from the walls may fall and that would be incredibly annoying if you'd just spent a lot of time cleaning the floor to then mess it up again... straight away.
We have a blog that discusses the best ways to clean your kitchen tiles, everything from the products to use and the natural cleaner you can make yourself to be eco friendly and save yourself some money along the way. Click HERE to check it out!
Use a mild soap and warm water to clean the window, rubbing away the dirt and dust. Then use a damp squeegee to remove any excess water from the window, starting in the top corner and dragging it down to the bottom. Overlap each stroke until the window is completely dry and wipe down the window frames and sills.
This is a job that needs to be done regularly, not just during your annual spring clean. But we add it to the Spring clean list because it's often forgotten about. Throw away any old jars lurking at the back of the cupboard, that are years out of date, and wipe down all the shelves with a cloth and warm soapy water or anti-bacterial wipes.
Don’t forget to clean the fridge gulley at the back – condensation needs to drain properly. Use a cotton bud or pipe cleaner to clear out any debris but always check your fridge manual to avoid causing damage.
Again, the dishwasher needs regular TLC and a great way to get rid of smells and keep it looking its best, is to use baking soda and a damp cloth to wipe down any food debris and stains that find themselves there. Keep it sanitised and use a dishwasher cleaner once every couple of weeks to make sure you’re killing all the bacteria lurking in there. The heat and moisture in a dishwasher is a playground for bacteria, so make sure you're cleaning it regularly.
It's no secret that stainless steel is difficult to clean, but our top tip for tackling this obstacle in the cleaning process is to avoid using anything abrasive and use a wax-based aerosol, sparingly, on the surface of the steel. Also avoid anything with oil in it as it’ll smudge and leave unsightly marks.
A spring clean always alerts you to any cleaning supplies that are dwindling or have run out. It’s the perfect time to take stock of the suppliers you have and the essentials and favourites you need. However, if you have a product in there that is years old and hasn’t been used – let it serve as a warning as you don’t need it, so don't buy any more.
